With over 100 years of history the University of West Georgia has come from humble beginnings  as an agricultural and mechanical school to a leading university.

More than 10,000 students enroll at UWG each year to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees.  The university offers 109 programs of study, 60 at the bachelor's level, 45 at the master's and specialist levels, two at the doctoral level and two at the post-master's certificate level.  Online courses are also available from UWG.

The University boasts more than 940 dedicated  faculty and staff members. The Carrollton campus includes residence hall living, intercollegiate athletics, and more than 100 student organizations.
